“Don’t wait for something big to occur. Start where you are, with what you have, and that will always lead you into something greater”
– Mary Manin Morrissey
I am back in Surkhet now. Things are good but busy.
There’s lots of work to do on the house
to get ready for our official move in. Above is a picture of what will soon be our kitchen. We are moving slowly but surely. I have a new theory I call, ‘Nepali time.’ One hour means four hours, later this afternoon means tomorrow, and later this week means, sometime next week. Interesting I ended up in this country, considering I am admittedly one of the most impatient people I know. Right now we are sleeping in the house but there is no glass in the windows, no light, water, or electricity. There are construction remnants everywhere. Some people suggested that I change the picture on the website, and choose a “better, fresher” looking picture. Well, sorry folks, but this is what our house looks like right now. We’re living on a construction site.
It’s really cold at night, so my last minute decision to put a small fireplace in our main entrance room turned out to be a really good one! Every night after dinner we sit by the fire, read, study and sing songs. Life is good.
