“Human kindness is a remarkable sight, especially in the direst of circumstances. I’m a Kopila Valley graduate currently doing an internship at the accounting department of the organization. As our efforts to help stranded migrant workers gain momentum with worldwide support, I’m amazed to see so many local people extending help and kindness. These locals do not have much to give, but they still help and give what they can because of the realization that they are better off than the stranded migrants who are struggling hard on their journey home. Helping is not always about having a deep pocket and making huge donations. Instead, it’s about having a big heart and showing generosity to the best of our ability. The local community offered kind words and encouragement to the weary travelers, lifting their spirits at a time when their will is already broken by thirst, hunger, frustration, and exhaustion. This crisis brought out the best in people, even from those with the least. Seeing everyone come together to help others in a time of need did a lot to restore my faith in humanity.”
